Being so close to this tiger cub took my breath away. I could only stare in awe, as he purred and rumbled with not a care in the world. This is Kashmir, my favourite among the tigers.

These pictures were taken by the young couple in the other pictures, as I held the leash from the left side. This is the closest I have ever been to a tiger, about 5 feet.  I enjoyed seeing them this way, and not behind bars in a zoo.

I liked the feeling of having no advantage over the cub: an even playing field for human and animal. Here in Thailand, these tigers have the freedom that they deserve.

I still think about this creature every day. It is worth a trip to Thailand just for this single experience. Think about it...
